North pin, sterling, bronze
The North (Pin):
Etched sterling silver and bronze. ©Sandra Noble Goss, 2007
"My piece is a memory of that idealized time - 1950's Muskoka - of imaginary endless possibilities in a mythic untamed country. The woman in the bathing suit, decorated with palm trees, represents the economic optimisim of that period and oblivion to the realities of that changing world."

Sterling silver, brass, patina, concrete.
Removable pins on stands. "'Boteh' (paisley) is seen as a symbol of fecundity and fruitfulness. These three pins represent growth and spring and the cycle of life." ©Sandra Noble Goss, 2005

Beach Memory Blanket:
Wall piece. Brass, sterling, wood, patina. 29.5" X 16". ©Sandra Noble Goss, 2003
"My recent pieces combine images of fossils and old photographs in an examination of ideas about memory and the passage of time. The insipration for this woprk comes from the fossil limestone beaches of southern Georgian Bay near my home."

Garden sculpture 12k jpg
Garden Sculpture:
Brass, Patina, folded and impressed, 35 X 95 cm. ©Sandra Noble Goss
"This piece is almost a meter high and is meant to be installed in a garden, as a talisman to protect and enhance the cycles of growth. It is formed on a bending brake with decorative elements embossed into the surface using a hydraulic press. Many of my garden sculptures spend some time indoors."

Hand pin 19k jpg
Hand Pin in Frame:
Sterling silver, fused, wood, brass, patina, gold leaf. 10 X 15cm. ©Sandra Noble Goss
"The hand for me is a symbol of creativity. The image of the hand becomes a protective symbol for those who work with their hands. The open palm is a symbol of trust. In this piece I fused sterling silver to create the texture for the hand. The hand itself can be removed from the frame and worn as a pin, or put back in its precious place (which is why I gold-leafed the wood)."

Treasure pin 14k jpg
Treasure Pin:
Sterling silver, fused, brass, patina, gold leaf. 5.5 cm. ©Sandra Noble Goss
"I fused sterling silver to make a heavily textured background for this pin. The brass front piece is patinated black and lightly sanded to show the roller-printed texture. The two parts are held together by sterling rivets."
